There are a ton of bars that are within the hundreds of hotels along the Grand Strand. They are not as easy to hear or find because they barely ever advertise, if at all. I was able to discover the 101 West Lounge because it was rated Best of the Beach for Happy Hour in 2003. I figured I should check it out since it was award winning. The place is going under a transformation under new management. They have added some good weekly specials, not to mention some quality deals on wings and shrimp. The drink specials are nothing amazing but do not let that deter you from stopping by 101 West Lounge though, its worth a stop especially if the horrendous 501 traffic isn't going anywhere.
