Review

Having been down here since 2005 and running this site has meant that I have been to a lot of bars and restaurants. It is not often that I go to a new place where I have yet to be in that particular building when it was something else. On some lazy days off though I try to drive around and find some hidden spots that I have yet to go to. I had known the Prince Resort in North Myrtle Beach had a bar, but I had never been in it. I tried going there, but that bar was still closed for the season, I did however notice a sign for Happy Hour at the Boardwalk Beach Cafe which is the restaurant that leads out to the Cherry Grove Pier that is right behind the Prince Resort. I knew I had to check it out since I had not been there as well. You cannot really go wrong with the ocean front view that this place provides. It was pretty slow since it was still the offseason, but I am sure business picks up in the warmer months. The prices are very good for being oceanfront and the dollar off helps out on the discounts. The food menu is your basic bar food, but it provides some cheap eats if you are at or near the pier around Happy Hour. There is not much that wows about the Boardwalk beach Cafe, but it still is one of the cheaper places you can find with a great oceanfront location.
