Review

The Sidewheeler Restaurant in Conway was always a great place to go to along the Waccamaw River when it was open. It had shut down several years ago and people were always looking for a suitable replacement for that space, but nothing ever came of it. That was until the owners of the Rivertown Bistro in Conway decided to open it up as Bonfire - a Smokin' Taqueria. Conway and the Grand Strand has its fair share of BBQ places, but Bonfire has it's own unique twist. While the BBQ is very good, the real highlight are the eclectic tacos that incorporate different styles of BBQ. Bonfire has redone the deck that overlooks the Waccamaw and it has live music on the weekends making it a very nice place to hang out at. There are a good selection of beers to choose from and I am pretty sure it is the only place that has wines by the tap. It may have taken a long time to get a replacement for the Sidewheeler, but Bonfire is more than filling those lofty goals.
