One of the newer additions to the south end is the Carolina Tavern which used to be the Hooters in front of the revamped Inlet Square Mall. I figured from the name of the place that this was some sort of a chain, but it seems like that is not the case. Right off the bat I can say the Carolina Tavern has one feature that no other bars along the Grand Strand has and that is the European Table TopSystem where you can pour your own drafts at your table. It is all on a computer system and averages out to the regular price of $3 per 16oz or about 19 cents per ounce. There are only two of the tables so reservations are recommended on them. As for the everything else, they provide a good menu with Happy Hour apps being 40% off. The drink prices are good and there is a good draft selection making Carolina Tavern a slick new place to go to especially when football season kicks up.
