There are not many bars that survive around Coastal Carolina due to a number of reasons. Some of them do not know how to market well to students, others run into legal and security issues and some are priced a little too high for the college crowd. The Coop Bar & Grill is the latest to attempt to avoid these mistakes and try to make for a place Coastal kids can go to. Location is not a problem as it sits right in front of the Monarch 544 apartments, so it can receive a lot of foot traffic. The prices are relatively low and it gets even lower at Happy Hour with discounts on alcohol and all apps are $5 across the board. The Coop has had multiple theme nights especially when school has been in session when the discounts can get even cheaper. It also has a large patio area with several fire pits providing a good indoor/outdoor atmosphere. The Coop Bar & Grill is a nice small college bar in an area that does not have many options to choose from.
