There are some bars that I know about that people keep telling me to review, but I have just put them on the backburner because I was not looking forward to reviewing it for numerous reasons. The Back Deck in Myrtle Beach was one of those places. I had been before, but it was dated and old and had no real personality to it. It had been around for a lot of years, but had closed and was replaced with Mai Tai's Beach House. I had seen a few pictures on its Facebook page and it did look a lot better. I was glad to see the improvements when I got there as the place is really brightened up and looks like it is in the 21st century. the large patio deck has been revamped as well. This is mainly a locals bar since it is off the beaten path just a little bit. The prices are very good and there is a small discount at Happy Hour which is 7 days a week. Mai Tai's is a vast improvement over the Back Deck and is worth finding if you are looking for a new locals hangout in downtown Myrtle Beach.
