Ocean Lounge @ Beach Colony

My trek along Ocean Blvd continues as I recently poked my head inside the Beach Colony Resort up near 53rd Ave N. It took me some wandering around, but I ended up finding the Ocean Lounge. Not exactly the most creative name, but I'll take it. The Ocean Lounge is a two part bar with one on the inside and another extending outside into the pool/lazy river area for when spring and summer come around. Obviously it wasn't too crowded in the middle of January when I did my review, but I had a good time nonetheless due to some friendly snowbirds from New England and some Canadian golfers in for the weekend. As for the Happy Hour, there is nothing that is going to wow you at the Ocean Lounge with them only having a quarter off on most drinks. The lack of draft beer is disappointing, but they have a surprisingly good selection of bottles and liquors. Food isn't available during these off months and the menu won't knock your socks off either, but it serves its purpose. They are trying a Thirsty Thursday special with a taco bar and loaded nachos for free so you can't complain there.The Ocean Lounge has nothing that is going to make it stand out, but I had such a good time there that I will have to stop in once things pick up again this spring.
