Review

One of my original bars that I used to frequent when I first moved down here was Spencerz Sports Pub on the corner of Dick Pond Rd and Hwy 17. It was great for sports, really cheap and had good food. Over time I started going less and less since running a Happy Hour site tends to get you to different reaches of the Grand Strand. I still was always a fan and disappointed to learn that the place was closing down in favor of a new Walgreens. It was much to my delight to find out that Spencerz had reappeared in a location in front of the Old Time Pottery that had been several failed attempts such as Dr Ink's and 1st and Ten most recently. The new Spencerz is a cleaned up version of the building that I'd been in a few times, that feels much more welcoming as you go in. The sports bar feel has transferred over well in this newest incarnation with a ton of flat screens covering the walls to go along with all of the sports packages. The Happy Hour discounts aren't too much off, but the already low prices mean you'll still be getting a deal. The popular free buffet on Fridays that was at the old location has carried over with pizza, wings, pasta, and other apps. At the end of every summer there are always a couple of places that I've always liked that will shut down, so it was a nice change of pace to see an old favorite in Spencerz Sports Pub return.
