Review

A restaurant that has created some buzz in the south and in the Carolinas recently has been the Tupelo Honey Cafe. This place is all about locally sourced ingredients and solid southern cooking. The spot in the Market Common that the new Tupelo is at is where the Tommy Bahama Cafe used to be, but it does not look like it in any way if you had been in there back then. The bar is large and spacious, but it can still get crowded since this has "the place to be" vibe to it since it is the newest place in Market Common. The food is all excellent and there is plenty of selection woth a rotating seasonal menu along with a small Happy Hour food menu. Speaking of Happy Hour, this place is a little tricky to rate. If you are a domestic beer only type of person then this is not the place for you since the closest thing Tupelo has to a macro beer is Sam Adams. If you are interested in the beers that it does have on Happy Hour then you cannot beat the deal of it being half off til 8pm on weekdays. Tupelo Honey Cafe certainly aims for a target demographic and it is extremely solid in doing so and if you are not in that target then at least give the place a try and you may like what you get.
